I arrived on the scene a bit earlier to make sure I didn't get stuck in traffic. It was my first time actually
'hanging out' in Westwood. It was about 5:00 PM and they were just taping down the red carpet and getting the small
interview stages ready for E!TV and Access Hollywood.
The initial press release listed just about every celebrity they could think of and as a result a truly large group
of photographers and media type people descended on the area. The excitement grew and everyone took their positions, loaded
film and tape and squeezed up against one another people to get the best shot possible.
The stars from the movie to stroll the red carpet included Pierce Brosnan, Denise Richards, John Cleese, Desmond Llewelyn,
Robbie Coltrane, Serena Scott Thomas, Mari Grazia Cucinotta and director Michael Apted. They patiently walked the carpet
posing for the photographers and talking to just about every interviewer except some guy named Ted. Denise Richards actually
stopped to give Ted a chance but he ended up asking something regarding her and nudity in future films. Ms. Richards' publicist
didn't seem to like that and they moved on.
Guests included Laurence Fishburn (and his mother), Joe Pesci, Saffron Burrows, James Coburn, Rodney Dangerfield,
Rene Russo, Ted Danson, Rachel Leigh Cook, Fran Drescher, Jennifer Tilly, Maria Conchita Alonso, Patrick Muldoon (Denise's boyfriend if
you didn't already know), Mary Steenburgen (Ted Danson's other half), Emily Bergl and a few people who's names I simply cannot
remember.
The World is Not Enough opens in theatres across the United States on November 19th.
I would like to thank all of the people at MGM for allowing us to participate in this way cool premiere (a special thanks to Denise). Make
sure to check back here as we plan on attending many more premieres during the busy holiday movie season! - Mark
