Kings

Kings is a card game whose outcome is determined purely by luck and fate. It is a game that combines a couple of different games to create one truly great adventure. Before you can begin play you need to find a large beverage container. Try either a large cup or perhaps a pitcher if you happen to be in a particularly sadistic mood. You also need a deck of cards, a table and a group of fun seeking drinkers.

To begin play seat yourselves around the table placing the beverage container in the center. Every player in the game is assigned a number,( 2,3,4,5 and so on up to 8) and each time one of these number cards is drawn by a player the corresponding player takes a sip of their chosen beverage. This being the case, cards may need to be removed from the deck before the game begins. For instance, if there are 5 players in the game, all of the 2's and 3's should be removed and the players should be assigned the numbers 4,5,6,7, and 8. Should there be more than seven players in the game there are options which may be employed (see variations) Now arrange the remaining cards in a circle face down around the beverage container. Going around to the left, each player draws a card of their choice. Each card has an action associated with it and they are as follows:

Again, a number card corresponding to player forces that player to drink.

If a 9 is drawn, the player to the right of the one who drew the card takes a sip.

If a 10 is drawn, the player to the left of the one who drew the card consumes.

If a Jack is drawn, the QUESTION GAME ensues until some one screws up and then after they drink the next player in line draws a card.

If a Queen is drawn then a game of CATEGORIES begins and is played until a player ruins everyone else's fun by messing up. At the conclusion of this tragedy, the next player in line draws a new card after the player who messed up has had their drink.

If an Ace is drawn, a social is called and all of the players enjoy a sip of their beverages.

If a King is drawn, the player who drew the card takes their chosen beverage and pours as much of it as they want into the large beverage container in the middle. This is done for the first three Kings drawn only. The unfortunate soul who draws the fourth King is granted the privilege and duty of drinking the entire contents of the large beverage container without allowing the container to leave their lips. Further, the player blessed with said honor must finish the entire contents of the beverage container before the rest of the cards are drawn. Should they be unable to complete this task they will find themselves drinking a second large beverage container. In the event that the last King be the last card drawn in the game, the player who has the duty of consuming the container must finish it before the first King of the next game is drawn. Again, failure to do so results in a second container and quite a bit more drinking. Basically our advice is if you have to drink the thing, do so quickly, or else.

The round ends when all of the cards have been drawn. Due to the extreme entertainment value intrinsic to the game of Kings it is not unusual for party goer's to play this game for hours on end. If all of the players are into the game, and seriously interested in combating the boredom that is life itself, everyone is sure to have a good time, not to mention a few beers.

The question game is perhaps one of the easiest games to learn and play, however to be really good at it can take some practice. The whole concept of the game is that only questions can be asked. There are no responses to these questions. If a player does make an actual response then they drink. The game begins simply by a player asking another player a question. The player asking the question must look at the player to which the question is being asked. The player being asked the question must respond with another question. This question should be directed at another player or else the game will go nowhere. Players may direct a question back at the original asker only once, after that the player must pick a new player to ask a question. A question can be directed back at the original asker later on, as long as other players have been incorporated in the game. Players drink when they make an actual response or else they delay in asking a new question. The delay period allowed is up to the players involved in the game. We usually give each player about 5 seconds to respond. If a player laughs and fails to give a response then they must drink. Basically as soon as you screw up you drink.

Questions can be anything. They can range from "What time is it?" to "does it crunch?" Trick questions are a favorite of experienced players. A good way to start is with the question, "Do I start?" or perhaps "are you ready?" Depending on the class of the players, some of the questions can get quite disgusting. The best players often have a list of questions ready in their head so that they will not get stuck. Also they learn to ignore the questions being asked and simply rattle of new questions so that they won't laugh. Inevitably there is a player who either laughs at every question or simply has no creativity and always get's stuck. Learn to ignore them and avoid asking them questions. Better yet simply take them out back and beat them senseless. This usually straightens them out. This game can go on for hours, or at least as long as the players can think of some asinine things to say.

Categories is an extremely easy game but one that take a little thought and creativity. No external devices or item are required to play this game, all you need is some people to play with and a beverage of your choice.

Play is easy and all it takes to start is for someone to decide to. All you have to do is come up with a category and then have everyone else name an item that belongs in that category. A round ends when a player either can't think of something or else repeats an item that has already been mentioned by another player. When either of these two events occur then the player who has committed the party foul must drink. The player who screws up is also the player who starts the next round. If a player needs time to think of an item that belongs in the category then they can ' think while they drink'. Categories can include anything from types of Condoms to various shades of hair dye. This is a game where your creative juices can truly come into play. It is usually best to pick categories that have at least more than one item or member in them. Names of Scandinavian countries would not be a good category as there are only a few of them. Brands of cigarettes is a much better choice, not necessarily for your health but for the benefit of the game. Have fun and see how long you can keep a round going. This game is integrated into the game of KINGS and can be played almost anywhere, except perhaps at a concert where everyone involved might have a tough time hearing each other.
